these guys used to be some of the most popular DIY tv personalities in the pre-HGTV era with three shows on PBS and TLC from 1990-2001, and were actually pretty funny. I have a vague recollection of running into the two of them at Reading Terminal sometime in the mid to late ‘90s. Looks like they tried a YouTube revival with decent production values but with the viewership numbers that low and no new content in over a year, that’s probably over.

Their fan base is still watching TV for that type of show. Not youtube. Younger people on youtube don’t know who they are.

I thought I recognized those guys, or at least Joe L’Erario. I enjoyed watching this show back in the day.

There are a ton of DIYers and ‘Makers’ on Youtube these days, it’s probably hard to stand out when some people already have 500k+ subs

Looking back now, Ed made a lot of politically related under the breath side comments that its surprising the censors allowed . A friend of mine’s parents live in his neighborhood in Chestnut Hill, and it seems he  gained a reputation for being kind of a local agitator/crackpot. But he is pretty damn entertaining on camera, and was genuine and pleasant in person.
